Tonight, Vancouver!

WE HOP A PLANE IN, LIKE, SHIT, 90 MINUTES: And said puddle jumper, it takes us north, completely passing Seattle, into the mysterious land of British Columbia. We land in Vancouver, and I go through a harrowing customs process, with my eye on the prize: A speaking fiasco, tonight, in downtown Vancouver!

A couple months back Mike Cober and Mark Busse came down to my Seattle talk, you know, to scout a bit. Spirited fellas, I remember that Busse grabbing me by the throat and saying, “You’ll be bringing this mess to Vancouver. Mark these words, eh!” And mark them I did.

And tonight, those words come to life.

Here’s the details: “Tall Tales From A Large Man” with the Draplin Design Co.

THEY MADE A POSTER FOR THE GIG: The poster up above! Check that beauty out! That’s made by one Stu Ross of the GDC/BC! They printed it up and everything! I don’t know where to start on how awesome this is. Usually, I whip something together at the last minute, right? But this, holy shit…I’m speechless. So awesome. Get in a little closer, and check those hat logos. So good. Thank you, Stu! And thank you Met Printers!

WE’VE GOT POSTERS, TOO: We have a severely limited pile of “Canada Collected” posters for the event, at “Vancouver-Only” prices. Please stop by our viciously-stocked merch table. We think you should get one. Simple transaction. Thick inks on the thickest of paper. Act now, Canada. Ottawa, Toronto and Waterloo did! Ask them. These do no disappoint!

Saw you last night at “The Ironworks” in Vancouver. Laughed my ass of! Well Done! Keep on doing what you love to do. It’s the only reason for getting up in the morning. I love “Gary” (RIP) too man!

OK. You kicked gluteous maximus in Van last night, drank a real beer or two and went record shopping. The world was in balance.
Fuckin’ “A”, eh.

Really enjoyed your presentation last night. As an almost burnt out designer this was a much needed dose of inspiration. Thank you.

Enjoyed your talk last night in Vancouver. I’ve been at the same job for 27 years and I now get that I should be greatful that I have such a cool job creating motion graphics. I’ve been too close to the job to see the big picture I guess. Your talk has also inspired me to do “what makes me happy”… I’ve always wanted to design my own T-Shirts (I know it is an over saturated market but F*** it!) I’m going to start sketching them out and work towards producing them. Maybe just for me but maybe others will like them too. Thanks Aaron hope you found some great records here!
