WE TURN OUR HEADS TOWARD KENTUCKY: We learned a lesson in 2006. A simple lesson all Yankees should learn. “Don’t talk bad about Kentucky.” Right? Of course. I grew up in Michigan and people used to throw Kentucky under the bus all the time. Something about “Hillbilly this…” and “Hillybilly that…”

Mainly, I remember this one bad-ass in my hometown making runs down to Kentucky to get fireworks. Sounded so exotic and dangerous. I remember that trunk opening up to this big, colorful pile of COMPLETE FUCKING DANGER. That’s the kind of shit that makes an 11-year-old go nuts. So cool.

Anyhoo, I traveled through Kentucky extensively in the mid-Oughts, and loved Kentucky, and Tennessee. Beautiful country! Mountains and grass and countryside. I loved it. Louisville was a cool town, and I’m pretty sure I’ve still got some “brick dust” on some of my gear.

Those big brick houses of Louisville, they give off a weird brick dust. Gets on yer clothes and backpack and stuff. I remember that.

My brother Hoss was a gracious guest, and along with that hunk of shit Ryno, we scoured the town. I dug it.

Enough of that. Coming up this Thursday, we’ve got official business in Louisville: DDC vs. Louisville, or, “Tall Tales From A Large Man” with the Draplin Design Co.” Both work well!
