Dirksen Derby

Josh Dirksen was my favorite snowboarder during my time at Mt. Bachelor. Hands down, the best style on the whole mountain, and, the sweetest, nicest, ego-less ripper around. He’s had a good run—pun intended—with this stuff, and parlayed his notoriety and selfless way into the Dirksen Dirby. When he called to do a graphic for it, I was so fired up.

I remember Dirksen and McAllister sleeping on our floor in 1994! Going to bed early and getting up at the ass-crack of dawn, stretching (who stretches?) to get warmed up, and the blasting up to the mountain to kick butt. I was so impressed by his dedication, at a mere 17 years old.

So proud to see where he’s taken his talent, career and good name around Central Oregon. Hell yeah.
