Had a nice day today with Leigh, Ewan, Gary, Leah, Jacob, Eric and Erin. We had all sorts of finger foods, ham, potato something or other, fruit and leftover thai food from the other night. A pretty serious feast.

I’ve resisted participating in the playing of Balderdash, a festive, happy game where you make up fake meanings to obscure words. I relented after Leigh gave me “that look” and joined the “fun.” Not only did I win the game, but I took a liking to it too. Always the fucking braggart, I know.

I usually just sorta recoil at the idea of eight happy people sitting around a table playing a game. I’m more of a one-on-one kinda guy. Chess, checkers, Scrabble or leg wrastling.

Leigh, I’ll admit two things: Balderdash was fun. Slaying you was fun, too.

ONE LAST ONE BEFORE THE WEEKEND WAS UP: Billy The Kid, about a kid in Maine with a couple complications, of the sweetest kind. Way recommended. Hard to watch at times, but in an odd, protective way where you fall for the kid pretty fast and don’t want to see him hurt one tiny bit. You remember being a teenager, right? This much will take you there, and fast. And for the record, I picked this one out at the video store. Take that, Leigh.
