Really hamming it up. All laffs. Photo by Saul Koll.

ONE COOL AFTERNOON: Gary Hustwit came by the shop! Hell yeah. He’s the guy behind the amazing Helvetica, Objectified and Urbanized documentaries. And, the producer of the Wilco documentary from 2002, “I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: A Film About Wilco.” I loved that thing. Good to have you guys come by!

There is One Comment

Aaron, I took the film Helvetica with me to Suzhou, China where I gave a two-week workshop in 2009. I got all kinds of reaction when it was shown and I left the disk with the department chairman at the Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute.

What really interested me was the use of Helvetica in the signage in and around Suzhou. The sign designers already knew of Helvetica and used it. Almost all signage, both commercial and officia, were very well designed in both English and Chinese.
