Tonight, Fort Wayne!

We drove like a bat out of hell last night down that Michigan 131 highway. Due south, gunnin’ for that Indiana border. Usually, we’re down by Gary, and whipping around the horn toward Chicago, and eventually, out into the wildness of The American West.

Not last night. We crossed over a bit south of Three Rivers. Made it to Fort Wayne just 30 minutes from midnight, loaded into the hotel, and was down to the “gym” for my sorta-nightly sweat fest. Did my 30 minutes of “power walking into infinity,” sweated some shit out, and was in bed around 1 in the AM.

I’ve got PJ “Hoss” Chmiel with me for this leg of the tour. He’s the tour manager, so, if you’ve got something to say to us, you sure as hell better say it to him too. Anyone fucks with Hoss, and you fuck with the ENTIRE goddamn DDC enterprise. That’s right, Indiana!

WE’RE FUNDED: OUr buddy Ron Myers put together a spirited Kickstarter a couple months back, and man, we were on pins and needles. What it Fort Wayne wants nothing to do with us, you know? Ron told me to believe in Fort Wayne, so that’s what I did.

The gig got funded in like seven minutes. Bam! Thanks, Indiana!

This one’s official: “A Night of Graphic Design Straight Talk with Aaron Draplin.”

And tonight, we’re bringing the FULL FORCE of the DDC to Fort Wayne to tell our WHOLE story to all who’ll listen.

The show gets going tonight at 7 in the PM, but be sure to show up an hour early to mix it up with us, have a refreshing beverage, peruse the DDC merch table, talk shit about neighboring states, hug it out, etc. Be there, Fort Wayne!

Nate Utesch better be there. Stern words, buddy.

CHECK THE POSTER THEY MADE FOR THE SHOW: Made by one Josh Tuck of Rustbelt! So cool. Thanks, man! I can’t wait to see them up close! And man, look at the HAIRY BEAST at the top of this post! That’s the 18x24 version they’ll have for tonight! My big, goddamn head, with an Indiana beard. Pretty much the best thing I’ve seen all year. Thanks, fellas!

WE MADE A POSTER FOR THE GIG TONIGHT: We’re calling it “Incredible Indiana” and we loaded that thing up with everything we’ve ever loved about the Hoosier state. We’ll be selling them “Fort Wayne Only” prices at our overloaded DDC merch table. Free rubber band with each purchase. You need one of these.

Come to the show, Fort Wayne!

Wish this weren’t sold out. Not often enough you make it down into the bowels of the great hoosier state on your just-the-north-tip-drive-through. I’ll get one of these posters. Even if I have to fight someone for it.
cheers.

where can I get these posters? sadly didn’t make it, as I live down at the bottom of that poster…what we refer to as the “choad” of IN. I’ve been waiting for IN to show up in the store, and would love to buy one

A Native New Yorker we moved to Indianapolis 10 years ago. Sorry we missed you last night! Would love to score the Indiana poster. Picked up and framed the New York one for the wife for her birthday SHE LOVED IT! Then saw your Shuttle Poster on the TV Show The Goldburgs.

Hope to see you in Indy some time soon! First drink would be on me! Thanks for all your work out there!

It was an honor to meet you, hang out, and hear you speak. It was an inspiring and motivating day that geared me up to get my shit together and make some cool stuff for myself and my clients.

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that you like the poster! Between that, and you telling me to stay the hell out of Portland has me thinking I might have a future in this business.

Thanks again. Hopefully we can get you back this way real soon.
