HEADING EAST: Leigh and I caught a flight to Detroit this afternoon. High noon. I went pretty late last night wrapping up finer points of open projects. Real late. Saw the sun come up. That’s late. A whole day later, we’re ratholed into a Red Roof Inn on the border of Michigan. Monroe! Working tonight on stuff, and then over to Cleveland when we wake up. DDC Mobile Command Unit.

And damned is Lady luck isn’t looking down upon us! We got a free upgrade at the rental joint. We’re making good time in a Dodge Journey. Nice rig. Lots of room. I’ve already had that sonofabitch up on two wheels as part of our “hope the insurance out West covers any dings/crunches/fires that might occur on our watch” rental rig travel program.

THIS JUST IN: The image you are seeing above is a little snippet from our Ohio poster we made up for WMC Fest! That one comes from Dan Padavic at Vahalla Studios in Kansas City. Those beasts pulled out the stops and saved our butts, big time! Three colors! Way limited edition. Everything Ohio. Or, the stuff that we love about Ohio. For WMC Fest! attendees, and if there are any leftovers, for you! Thanks, Dan and Tad from Vahalla! You guys are print royalty, of the highest fuckin’ order. Wow.

And a big, meaty thanks to Joseph of Northcoast Zeitgeist for the “porch space.” The posters were shipped to his compound in Kent for safekeeping until the WMC Fest! starts on Saturday. Thanks, buster!

It’s always good to be back in the Midwest. Goodnight, Michigan.

Had I seen this post beforehand (I’m waaaaaaaaaay behind on feed readin’), I could’ve prepared myself for seeing my name on there in the lights of silvery ink.

You honor me, man.

Words fail.
