We Roll That Way

We’re in the market for a cargo van.

A Ford. 2000-2004. Something along those lines. Panel van. V6. Gonna add another seat in the back too.

It’s been on the radar for some time. Just something to handle the 5-6 times a year I need to move a pieces of furniture or pick up a load of t-shirts from the printer or whatever. Friends can use it. Something you could sleep in comfortably. That kind of thing. Plus, I’ve had the graphics done for years, so, those need a home too.

Anyone got any advice on the subject? If so, please leave a comment and let me know what you are thinking. Thanks.

WE’VE ALREADY DONATED: How about you? Help Tod get the American Sign Museum up and running the way it should be. History, people. Preserved, so we don’t forget the way things used to be in American signage.

I got to meet Tod a couple years back on a fall tour. I checked out the museum, and Tod let me dig around the vaults of his “Signs of the Times” offices in downtown Cincinnati. So fun.

Here’s some shots from those days in Cinti: A tour of the American Sign Museum and The Signs of the TImes Inner Sanctum Tour. Some of the coolest stuff I’ve ever seen.

ONE SERIOUS ARROW: The Ranch Motel in San Antonio, Tex.

SOME ‘MATS RIFFAGE: Henry’s got a good post about the Replacements on Chunklet today. He’s for a download of the infamous “Shit Hits The Fans” bootleg, so grab that and turn it up.

WAY BACK IN 1972, A MAN AND HIS DACHSHUND: Mr. Cruz from Quality vintage sends in a couple beauties from his dad’s archives. Here’s his dad with Barney, and Barney kicking it on a chair. King of the breeds, king of the breeds.

FROM FORT WAYNE, IND.: Left Lane Cruiser, you dirty fuckers. Heavily recommended by Mr. Cruz at Quality Vintage with this pitch, “Raw, nasty, garage-y, bluesy, great stuff if you roll that way.”

Yes, we roll that way. Just what I needed. Some good jams.

Let’s just say if you’re looking for a van, I can’t see you or your graphics on anything other than a Vintage Ford Falcon Van. End of fucking story.

Somehow when I see you talking about a “panel van” that you can sleep in, I imagine a pick of you and the new ride showing up here:

Hope all is well - it has been a long time.

The 2003 model changed the front grille, so if you’re looking for the old style stay earlier than that. If you’re going to go V-6 to save fuel, you might as well consider a diesel.

A dirty secret of E-series used truck sales is that you can find them for relatively cheap when Enterprise rental does their semi-regular sale of their fleet vehicles.
