Flew home today. Good flight to Detroit. Good flight up to Traverse City. Packed flights. Crying babies. Sweating parents. Concerned middle-agers. iPods clicking. Some Sudoko being played. One flight attendant with a severely stretched face due to hopeful plastic surgery after plastic surgery. One oversized graphic designer slammed into a cramped seat.

Glad to be home, and on the goddamned ground. Er, the couch. The DDC is pretty much closed for a handful of days.

RIPPED RIGHT OFF FROM COUDAL’S FRESH SIGNALS: “Awesome Tapes from Africa.” What else can you say? Those guys know how to do it. No ideas what the hell the things say, but like that matters.

SOME FURNITURE DESIGN I CAN SINK MY TEETH IN TO: “Chunk Table and Bench.” Now we’re talking. Something that can take a beating.

ONE MORE FROM THE CANADIAN DESIGN RESOURCE: CN Train Lunch Box. So good.

DOESN’T SNOW MUCH IN PORTLAND: So you get shit like this going on. I grew up in the snow, motherfuckers, and I gotta tell you, it’s like it’s my first time driving every time it snows out here! Scary as Gary is long. Near death experiences. Middle fingers. White knuckles. Fear. Sadness. Sweat.

Inside living. That’s the ticket.

ABSOLUTE REQUIRED VIEWING: Make an Eames chair. Great film, grain, type, music and chairs. Wow x 500.

Best thing you’ll see all week.

Great video from Portland, but this one is better, I think:

So glad I’m in MPLS where it’s just blizzards and no ice.
