Turning 35 today.

Mixed feelings on it. Damn. One part freaked out. One part thankful to have made it thIs far. A tiny part afraid of time’s weird ways. Mostly just plain “glad to be alive.”

What a world.

The biggest goddamn “Thanks” goes out to Father Time, Mother Earth, the sun, outer space, the sky, the dirt, the lakes, the rivers, the oceans, the peaks, the valleys, America, Mom, Dad, Little sisters, Gary, Leigh, Portland, the graphic arts field, Freedom, the Interstates, Big S, friends, colleagues, heroes and to the good people of Guckeen, Minnesota for offering a gallon of gas at $2.96 a gallon.

Spending the day in Minneapolis with Leigh and Ryno. Awesome.

The DDC is closed for the day. Normal postings, shameless self promotion, cheap threats and lofty idealism will resume once we get a bearing on this “35” shit.

35 is a damn good age. Solid. It just sounds like the age of someone who kicks a whole lot of ass and has a sound mind sitting atop his shoulders. Best wishes Drapln.

Happy Birthday, Same-Age-As-Me-Guy. Three months in, I can say that 35 has treated me not as poorly as some years, not as well as some others. Shrug.

Fuck, Happy Birthday fucker!! I am a couple months ahead of you and I just read that this is the median age in the USA. Which is lame.

The big 3-5 what a nightmare! Happy Birthday!

I’m a regular at your blog and I’m also a huge fan of snowboarding so I’m familiar with your work in the mags I read and the products I enjoy.

I’m glad you enjoyed MPLS, you should have stopped by space150 and checked us out. I would have been happy to show you around! Maybe next time eh?

35—a mere piss in the bucket of time! But it is funny drap, you are catching up to me! I know u think it funny that I am over 40 but you are closing in on me…all those coffee breaks avoiding full- length miirrors exposing back of haed bald areas…35 beer belly too much indie rock sitting on your ass working photoshop jerking to prono for a break…35 too old to be a rocker or skate anymore but still go to bend hand with the buds and pretend…life is sufferring, life is good age hurts but its the only real thing…Fred Green

35 is halfway to 70 and 70 is too damn old. But congrats on making it to 35 in one piece, with a rock-solid woman at your side. When you turn 40, I’ll make it to your big goddamn turning-40 bash, wherever in the world it is held. That’s a promise.

Your thirties are when you get it. It all gets easier and you already know how to do it right. Hitting the middle of it and by checking in on your “blog life” proves the point. Good work. Well done. Many more happy birthdays to you.

Happy Birthday, man. Sharing your birthday is Al Sobotka, the famous Zamboni driver. He won Zamboni News’ 1999 Zamboni Driver of the Year Award.
