Unsettling, At Best

Say “yes” to Michigan. We often do. Big ideas for next summer, people. Big ideas.

My distinguished brethren Ryno of Minneapolis and Hoss of Louisville don’t eat animals. Ethical reasons, mainly. Fair enough. I agree with them, too, but do enjoy a burger from time to time, or a side order of bacon.

Nevertheless, they have keen sets of eyes and always made a note of picking out the creepiest scenes in the signage world involving “Animals getting ready to themselves.” You know, a BBQ place or something, with a pig with a bib on, holding a fork and knife, smiling and licking it’s chops and you’ve got Ryno standing in front of it squealing, “Ahhhh, I’m gonna eat myself! Yayyyyy!”

Unsettling, at best.

Ryno and Hoss, eat yer hearts out with this one (Well, wait, don’t. That’s pretty much the same deal.): A flickr set celebrating the big. fun world of Anthropomorphic Cannibalism. Weird all around. (Cherrypicked this one off the extensive Reciprocal Crap Exchange, a site Breck puts together.)

MORE ABOUT RECIPROCAL CRAP EXCHANGE: Let Breck’s review of the “Musgrave Test Scoring 100 Pencil” sell you on how thorough a review can be. Excellent. Thanks for the good words about the DDC too, man. Means a lot.

BLOOD IN THE GRASS: I don’t know a goddamn thing about rugby, but I’m betting Anthony Georgis does nowadays after his recent project called, “Blood Makes The Grass Grow” about Oregon high schooler gals playing that tough sport, and getting pretty chewed up in the process. Nice shots, man. Tough stuff.

LITTLE_FIELD_NOTE_ICON.gif SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO: Beau Colburn took the time to show you exactly what showed up when he bought a set of Field Notes. So good. It’s nice to have someone who appreciate the details out there like we do. Means a lot to us. Really. Thank you. Beau, get in touch with me, and let’s get you set up with some survival gear.

That gallery is pure magic. Diving into a big project for exhibition here, and some of that fuck’n creepiness is certain to elbow its way in to the party.
Thanks.

Re: Anthropomorphic Cannibalism

Even time I see one of those signs I can’t help but think of the ‘Cluckin’ Chicken’ SNL parody ad:

http://www.hulu.com/watch/2317/saturday-night-live-cluckin-chicken

“You taste great Clucky!”

And for the record, vegan for over 15 years.
Yup.
