It’s been a long time since I listened to some Sebadoh. Broke the streak today.

I guess they are going on tour again. Hmmm. Some sort of reunion thing. I remember seeing them in Portland, in the fall of 1994, so excited to get another winter going out west. Some turkey threw a beer bottle, it smashed on the lights above Bob Fay the drummer, raining down on him and cutting his arm. And that was that. He walked off the stage, visibly pissed. Lou finished the show, gulping drinks, getting more and more hammered with each acoustic “song.”

A couple years back, at Cinco, we went on a tear with their landmark album Bakesale. Good times.

Some old Sebadoh from 1995 on RBally. Brought back a mountain of memories.

Things like,

01. Riding up to the mountain.
02. A certain gal I was seeing at the time.
03. Portland on the weekends.
04. Being broke as shit.
05. Playing Bakesale all the way through on my bass.

Tons of album cover knockoffs. Interesting.

Never seen them live, missed a bunch of shows in Burlington. Never seen Nirvana either, believe it or not, I should have. Seen Lou at Higher Ground solo and he seemed like a real down-home drunkard. Good songs. Dave Wien loves Lou Barlow.

i actually broke out bakesale last week. my daughter spilled a milkshake on the cover and wrecked it. pretty rad. that portland show sucked, cause they were gonna rock. and we drove our broke asses up from bend. i dont recall lou finishing the show though, i thought he just talked about how a bad apple can ruin the whole bunch or something like that. then, walked of the stage and we all stared in disbelief and went home pissed. i saw them 2 years later in denver. it was good.
