Working, frantically, trying to wrap shit up before the long haul back home. Pushing off tomorrow to points unknown, then, at some sad point, taking a big, meaty right and heading due west for that Portland. This is our life.

Got the new Chavez box set, and, felt kinda dumb cuz, well, I had these albums when they came out, and, they are sitting in my wall of discs back home. Guess it doesn’t hurt to have them again. Some new extra tracks and some beautiful liner notes, photos and credits. So nice. Haven’t watched the included DVD yet. I will upon my triumphant return.

Steve Brydges, or, maybe Arlie turned me on to these guys back in 1995 or something. I remember blasting that shit in the headphones while riding Mt Bachelor, kicking ass around the mountain.

Word is they are getting back together for another run at it. Kinda cool.

Funny how they seem “old,” with the decade stretched out between when those album came out and now. Weird.

The King of Men. Collector of signs and ephemera at the professional level, no messing around. Makes a world-class pizza and can swear like nobody I’ve ever met (and most people in my family swear like sailors). The highest respect.

Chavez is great. Got to see them live once, maybe again. If anyone can stage a viable comeback, they could. Solid rock.
