Going Coastal

Spent a mellow night over at the coast with architectural wonderer April Cottini. She’s using a friend’s beach shanty for the weekend and man, I had to get over to enjoy the cool ocean air.

Gary and Zöe the Greyhound did some fetching on the beach. Fast hounds. Lots of wellwishers sharing the love with the little man. Good times.

01. “Figurin’ out the upcoming week on the way over…”
02. “Lots of real estate for Gary to fetch in.”
03. “Go get it, Gary!”
04. “Mesmerized by the mini green tennis ball.”
05. “Zöe and Gary, friends fur-ever.”
06. “Sunset at Seaside.”

Saw those crusty old fucks in Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young friday night.

Our short review: Put together very well, their message of Peace and Impeachment sorta felt a little trite, and, packaged a little too well. 40 dollar concert shirts and nine dollar beers ain’t my idea of a peace rally. The guys looked great, all old and weathered, with a casual confindence to them that last the ages.

We were in row “R” and right in the middle, so, our view was amazing. Neil Young looked pretty rough, and old, but, shredded the place. So good. Crosby looks like an old Santa Claus, with a wink in his eye. He went through hell back in those ’80s, at one point, ready to sail off into the sunset one last time. Wow.

01. “Teach you children well…”
02. “Four dead in O-hiiiiiii-ooooohhhh…”
03. “Keep on rockin’ in the free worrrrrrlllllld…”

Their message of “peace” is potent, timely and needed, but I can’t help just feeling pretty much powerless in the current state Bush’s half-ass war machine. is there any end in sight?

Scratch these guys off the list. I got to see them and am very thankful for that.

Also, special thanks to Joe and Matt for making it happen.

With each consecutive pic of Gary that you post, I get more and more jealous of such an awesome beast! Gary looks like he’s an awesome friend.

Gary looks like he’s having fun on that beautiful ocean beach…..

Glad you shared the CSNY concert with me for a few minutes; it was great to hear them. They don’t look so bad, just weathered with age…..

Don’t let the peace theme jade you - it’s what the 60’s were all about - singer/songwriters expressing their frustrations through song and protesters through signs, marches, etc…….and look: 40 years later and we are doing the SAME thing…..is this called progress or is this just life?
