THE BIG LEAGUES: It’s been three years since my last Mac Pro tower. Thing’s treated me well, but is lagging pretty hard. And today, in my end-of-the-year-write-off-rush, I settled a new Mac Pro fart tube. Dropped a load on the thing, the fucker better perform. Tough talk.

I’m pretty excited for the some new firepower:

-3.5GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5
-32GB 1866MHz DDR3 ECC - 4X8GB
-1TB PCIe-based Flash Storage
-Dual AMD FirePro D300-2GB VRAM

And then, this beast for the time machine/high res/DDC archives:

-Pegasus2 R4 8TB (4 by 2TB) Thunderbolt 2 RAID System

I’ve got two of the 30” cinema displays and am going to procure one more, in hopes of running 90 inches of real estate. Left monitor for email, iTubes, Twitter, reminders and the calendar. Middle monitor for the art board. Right monitor for palettes and web browsers. Bam!

Here’s to a hell of a 2014, busy as fuck, and armed for whatever comes down the pipe.
