Kansas City, Here I Come

UP EARLY, TOO EARLY: Didn’t even go to sleep last night, all fired up on Kansas City. Sat there working, readying materials for the big night. Caught a quick flight over to Salt Lake City, where one perfectly-placed “Woo-Hoo” out of some overzealous broad with “Kirk Hammett Hair” getting out of our seats, right in my ear, just ruined the whole layover for me. Sad DDC. I’m just not down with people who say, “Woo-Hoo.” Very high on our list of “Things We Hate.”

But I got over it, like I always do. I mean, hell, ever since Osama got picked off, I’m trying to turn over a new leaf. You know, more “caring and sharing.” The bad man’s gone, and the world’sā€”we’re hoping, at leastā€”a better place. Brighter. More colors. Bigger tubes of toothpaste in the carry-on.

Anyhoo, we made it to Kansas in one piece and in precisely 14 minute, we’re getting picked up from our big hotel downtown and whisked over to the joint, where we are giving presentations to the a packed house of Kansas City’s creative community’s finest. We’re on the clock, and we’re bringing a whole lot of Northwest back to the Midwest. Our “A” game. Seriously.

Okay, gotta put my pants on, and optimize my PDF for the gig. Multimedia, motherfuckers!

Hi Aaron - fantastic to meet you today. Thanks for making the trip out to KC and for just about being the nicest fella to walk through those studio doors.

PS Did you draw a Gary on our chalkboard? If so I’m sending a photo with the hope of making the Gary gallery.

Cheers,

Alistair

You were awesome on Friday!! My husband and I both really loved your presentation and it’s multimedia fantasticalness. We haven’t been to many AIGA events but you’ve definitely got us optimistic for what is to come in the future. Thanks for making your way all the way out here!

PS- Since Friday my husband has been carrying a Field Notes book with him everywhere. :)
