SO EXCITED I CAN’T EVEN TAKE IT: Hometapes’ & All Tiny Creatures new release “Harbors” is alive!

From the official Hometapes’ press release:

Lighting the way is Harbors visual artist Aaron Draplin. He has this to say about the record:

“I hope I live to 100 years old. And at the end of these 100 years, I hope to look back at all the stuff I made, and feel good about the whole mess. I know this much, the record Sara, Adam and I designed up for the new All Tiny Creatures Harbors release will be a prized jewel, shining all the way back from the year 2011. Thick lines? Check. More color? Check. Helvetica Bold? Check. Stoughton packaging? Check. And man, an album full of great tunes! I mean, this was the equivalent of all the planets aligning for a guy like me. The perfect storm. Wait, don’t forget the colored vinyl! One seriously boss project, and I’d like to thank Hometapes and All Tiny Creatures for trusting me on this one. And hell, it only took me 37 years to get my mousefinger on some Stoughton packaging. Real proud of this one.”

AND HERE’S SOME MORE HOT AIR ABOUT THIS ONE: …right here on the DDC daily feed:

More color! Something we say. Often! 2010 went out with a real bang for me. A couple days before Christmas I got this weird stomach ache that wouldn’t go away, which turned into some scary-ass pain in the side guts, and ultimately ended up in a underwhelming appendectomy. On death’s door, sorta. Anyhoo, my first project in 2011 was this record. Getting back to work was a little weird. I was upside down, still feeling a little wobbly from all the medication and time lost. Combine that chemical haze with the wild-eyed, blue sky trust from Adam and Sara to “make something cool†and I have to tell you, I was a little out of my mind. So looking at how this one turned out, I like to think all those Norco pills, drooling and healing juices fueled what you are seeing in this DDC SUPERPOST.

So happy to be alive. So happy to be trusted with a project like this. So happy to have pulled it off. So happy to be in good tidings with Adam and Sara. And of course, holding out for a “roadie offer” from the band, too. “Heavy Lifting” is one of the services we’re known for. That and “Money Spending” so, uh, let’s make some magic, fellas.

I’d like to thank Hometapes and All Tiny Creatures for this opportunity! Wow. Beaming with pride and full-spectrum, thick-lined color!

Is that Jerry Garcia on the cover? And who’s the bear with the huge paw holding that small round disc? What are those called again?

Seriously, dude. This shit is awesome! Well done and congratulations to all involved.

TRULY bad-ass Draplin! On so many levels. A crown jewel in a portfolio that already stands head & shoulders above the rest. Enjoy the pride that goes w/this one my man.

Nasty in the greatest possible of ways, especially the gatefold and the disc art. Beautiful. Keep slaying it Draplin!
