WE LOVE PENCILS: We use them hourly in our Field Notes. We carry a bullet pencil in the front pocket of our 501s at ALL times. We make pencils. We sell them. We give them away by the handful when people visit the DDC factory floor.

And we were lucky enough to do a little interview with Pencil Revolution about our love for pencils, and you can read Part 1 right here!

Part 2 is coming soon, pencil enthusiasts! As well, a new line of DDC hexagonal pencils. Imagine that!

TAKING IT TO THE HOLE: Wait, that sounds weird. Anyway, here’s Always’ With Honor’s coverage of Clifton’s impressive BOOMSHAKALAKA show that’s up at Land Gallery up on Mississippi. Nice moves. Nice art. Nice gallery. Nice people.

Here’s an action shot of “Me introducing my enchanting, engaging, thoughtful, ferociously loving girlfriend Leigh to the world.” That’s how I do it, you know, cuz I always suck so bad at introducing her, and family, and everything else while we’re at it. So I make up for it with a little stagecraft from time to time? Sorry. I’m horrible.

Here’s our official “Best of Showâ„¢” nod: Always With Honor’s incredible Trailblazin’ illustration piece from the gig. So good. Always. Headturner, for sure. Great vectors there.

Here’s one more, of me, and Clifton, but of course, me being the ballhog I am, I took up way too much of the frame. Check out Clifton in the background! Just happy as hell. We dig!

WE’RE COMING TO AUSTIN, TEXAS: We’ve been in high level negotiations with the good people of the Creative Workers Union regarding a chat in Austin, Texas, and well, things are starting to move. There’s even a Kickstarter thing to make this thing a reality for the creative beasts of Austin. We’ve got some tall tales for Texas. Seriously. This one is going to be great.

Working titles for the event are:

01. “DDCXSW”
02. “Texas, I Love Ya, You Big S.O.B.”
03. “And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Orange.”

Joseph Hughes of the freedom-loving Northcoast Zeitgeist even chimed in:

04. “The DDC Messes With Texas.”

I like that. Short and sweet. The truth. We’re coming for you, Austin. Be ready!

MYSTERY SOLVED: Remember that cool Futura backpack thing from Saturday? Well, you can get yer own right here, along with a bunch of other cool shit. I guess I met the proprietors at my “Thanks MPLS” show back in October, but don’t remember it one bit. Horrible, I know. It was that ass pocket of rotgut whiskey Ryno presented me with. Or, just being overwhelmed by that wall, and all those people. Phew. Anyhoo, Medium Control makes cool shit, and here’s proof. Buy some gear and keep Futura Bold out there, for all the taxpayers to wonder about.
