Wrapping Things Up For Orlando

TWO DAYS OUT, ORLANDO: The DDC vs. Orlando! Leigh and I are flying down to the Sunshine State tomorrow morning, bringing our A-Game to VCC, Orlando-area record stores and the entire Epcot franchise. 48 hours from right now, people! Tall tales from a large man. All the way from Portland. Logos. Orange things. Stuff you need. Independent thinking. Loose words. Sweat. A gigantic PDF presentation of everything the DDC factory floor has to offer.

And man, I can’t wait to go to Epcot. It was so cool as an 11-year-old. Hope it’s just as fun at 36. That’s a 25 year gap. Wow. Gainseville Brent keeps talking about “Beers Around The World” where you slay the whole park on some wild-eyed ale tour? Hmmm. I’d barf in that big lake thing there, for sure. (See “Orlando Style” below.)

THERE’S EVEN AN AFTER PARTY, AND WE GOT INVITED: Soup to Nuts! This come to mind: You know, “Orlando Style!”

NICE EDITS, HERE: This one is for Jess and Nakamoto. The editing is for Jess, the peculiarity is for Nakamoto. “Some Japanese guy ironing his shirt.” Orville Esoy himself sent this one in, and had this to say, “I guess its all about being deft with your hands…”

We’d speculate the same sort of thing.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE THIS, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YERSELF: Transmit by Panic, Inc. I use it HOURLY and met with a couple fellas from Panic Internal yesterday afternoon about clandestine matters. Do the right thing and upload/download with Transmit. We’ll just say it again: We use it hourly and from big rig to laptop, it never lets me down.

FROM THE “FLAMING LIPS” CATEGORY: Our favorite Wayne, by Mr. Fullarton.

This Fullarton guy’s a real handful. Here’s his kick-ass, uplifting Flickr set called, “More regrettable incidents in a life filled with bitter remorse.” Great stuff in there. Dig around.

ALL AROUND THE WEST: Meet Dan Vieyra. Next time you are whipping through one of these big states, you should pull off that Interstate and get a take a good look around.

Something we do. Our recommendation. (Thank you, Jess Gibson.)

THIS SATURDAY, ALL OVER THE NATION: Record Store Day! See you there, fuckers!

ON THE PLAYER:

01. Gray Matter - Food For Thought
02. Son Volt - Trace
03. Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

Epcot is a shell of what it used to be, especially design wise. Still worth a visit though.

I was always more of a Universal guy.

I enjoyed Disney World at 21, five years ago. I felt like a kid again.
