Up early and out to the coast, and up to that 101 Highway for miles and miles of coast, trees, howling rain and winding road. Real fun. Not too much to junk from Crescent City, Calif. all the way up to Coos Bay, Ore.

Just lots of driving and raining and talking about the little towns and hamlets we were passing through.

Coos Bay was another story. We hit a couple antigue stores downtown, and even a little record store. Awesome, all around.

Then we cut over to Cottage Grove and raced north up to a sleeping Portland.
