Heading back to Michigan tonight, into a iced-over hellhole of a Midwest. Fingers are crossed for smooth sailings, er, smooth landings. Reports of ice storms, snowbanks, black ice, slippery stairs and blizzards are rolling in. My itinerary: Portland > Seattle, Seattle > Chicago, Chicago > Traverse City. Big goddamn fun. Packed in like sardines. Holi-daze cheer, etc. - - - - ROUND, YOUNG VIRGIN, MOTHER AND CHILD: Wayne and Steven brings it home, on Christmas Eve. Mitch Miller, kiss my grits.
