MANDATORY READING, HALFTONERS: The history of the Halftone.

- - - -

Ohio barns, people, Ohio barns.

- - - -

Albums nabbed over the weekend:

01. Flaming Lips - Clouds Taste Metallic (Geeked.)
02. Sea and Cake - The Biz
03. The Sea and Cake - Everybody
04. The Sea and Cake - The Fawn
05. Sam Prekop - S/T
06. Smog - A River Ain’t Too Much To Love
07. Dinosaur Jr - Green Mind
08. Slint - Spiderland

On a hunt, people, on a hunt. There’s my 50 all time albums that I just have to have on vinyl, and once I get ‘em all, I’m gonna start unloading my trusty, dust-collecting compact discs at a cut-rate price. Just ain’t using them anymore, with all this digital-ness going on around me. But, albums, well, I’ll die with those. Something like that.

Here’s what’s hot on my list, so, if you got a copy you want to part with, look me up and let’s talk:

01. Uncle Tupelo - Anodyne
02. Swell - 41
03. Any of the Pavements
04. Sebadoh - Bakesale
05. Anything Mercury Rev (I know, I know, top dollar.)

The thing that is haunting me, with this new fight to grab all my favorites on vinyl once and for all is, I remember looking at each and every one of these records when they came out, just to check out the artwork up close, and, then put it back and went and grabbed the compact disc version. So it goes. Vinyl just wasn’t practical for the rambler like myself, especially in those wild days.
