Still thinking about the number “seven” and I’ll be damned if Cory Grove ain’t thinking about the same number. He sent in the marvelous specimen above early this morning

A serious, serious day for junkin’ around town. Many, many treasures to list.

For starters, a set of four orange Eames Shell chairs, for the dining room.

My first Eames purchase. I’ve been hemming and hawing for some time now about a set of chairs for the dining room table, and, got fed up and settled these beauties this afternoon. Very serious chairs. Built in Zeeland, Michigan by Hermann Miller some years back.

I’ve always been one to hold off on the Eames stuff, cuz, quite frankly, going into so-and-so’s house with this piece and that piece can be just kind of, uh, predictable after awhile. I bought a big-ass barcalounger a couple years back, and, well, it’s form-fitted to my girth. So big and comfy and dumb. Nothing “modern” about the thing. And I love it.

Michaylira and I caught up on all things good tonight, and he brought up how amazing the fireflies were on his recent trip back to Pennsylvania. Man, I wish we had them out here. I remember catching them in jars on a hot summer nights, and having them next to my bed, and, all of them being really, really dead in the morning. Something like that.
