DDC_DIORAMA_01.jpg

Just when we thought we’d seen it all, the DDC Factory Floor is presented with a gift of silver shimmering skyscraper proportions, but, on a small, tiny, little scale. (1:87, to be really precise!)

A gift from the estate of April Cottini, this little diorama captures our life in Portland. A dirty Carhartt jacket, a barking dachshund, a German station wagon, a little craftsman pad, the mean streets of Sandy, all with a sunset Portland backdrop.

Get in and dig the details!: 01 | 02 | 03

We were flabbergasted and astonished and honored and blown away, all in a white-hot split second where one just kinda goes, “Yeah man, contrary to what people are sayin’, the world is a good place, and man, people who make things like this, well, they are the ones who make the world a good place.”

Many, many thanks go out to Cottini Department of Planning, St. Johns, Unincorporated.

Ryan Coulter, Champion of All Things Good In This World, sent us this striking link. Dig it, man. We did.

Beers and steaks soon, fellow brother of that goddam sumbitchin’ Midwest. Call this weekend, or else.

Snowboard mag is moving to Portland! That’s right. Enough of this scattered wildness. The team is set for another lethal summer, but, with an intensifed focus the likes of which can kill a man who wanders into the “war room” atmosphere during production. Watch yer back, So Cal; we got a fire going up here.

Congrats team! Year three. So good.

And tonight, well past the midnight hour, we gave ourselves a haircut. We had to. Shit was getting out of control. Really. Little-to-no improvement, overall.

Your spankin’ new diorama put a big ass grin on my mug this morning. Hands down the most personlized and best conceived gift I’ve ever seen, kudos to the creator.
