60_DAY_19.gif

Woke up at 3am. Thought I had the jet lag licked. Guess not.

Had an amazing breakfast at the J+M with those Kass’, then came home and got shit rolling for the mag. Finally, a secure connection on a fast machine…much progress was made with these posts.

Pacing around, working up pages in the mag, polishing pieces of other projects, calculating routes, playing those drums like a gorilla, catching up on email, wondering about the ants that seem to have taken over the kitchen counter (“Where were you little fuckers all summer?”), etc.

Ahhh, here’s something for ya to think about: Talked with Cam today at length, about all sorts of shit. The big news is, he asked Bonnie to marry him, and hell, she accepted. Conrats to ya.

Not too much else to report. I should be in the “middle of nowhere somewhere, trying to find some obscure route” but, much to my dismay, I’m waiting for the dudes to convene and knock this issue out. Ho-hum. I’m itching to get back on the trail.

Had a hearty dinner at Chaba Thai, with those Kass’, once again. Afterwards, full from Pad Ke Maw, I came home and passed out. It was 8pm, if I remember correctly.

Didn’t you and those fuckers (dudes, whatever) just finish “knocking out” an issue at your ranch about 3 weeks ago? WTF? Did an unexpected “surprise issue” spring up out of nowhere or is this a different snowboard magazine or what? Sounds like bullshit to me. I understand you gotta pay the bills, but get your ass back out on the road, the rest of the USA needs you more than this bunch of brahs. Do you even snowboard anymore!?

Yeah, I did. And of course, they are back. We are supposed to “make the mag” in the first 5-6 days of the month, so either I was coming back, or they were flying out to meet me. I got the shitty end of the stick this time. Supposedly—and we’ll see how far this one goes—they are gonna fly out to meet me, wherever I’m at, next month to make issue 4. So yeah, being home is a tough one, but, I’m obligated to the mag, so I gotta produce. Shit.
