Lots to talk about concerning little Gary:

Well, the little guy can bark. Didn’t know he had it in him, to that level. Wow. Fills up the house real big and loud. It’s hard to reprimand, or coax him the right way, as honestly, I don’t know what the hell to do. Any visitor is a challenge, and well, I have so many people in and out of the place, I fear that could be a a frisky situation.

He’s a lover, and needs cuddling. He came from a big, beautiful family with eight kids running around. So, he’s been loved real good so far. He’s most at home on my chest, against my side, or on my shoulders.

This morning, we both woke up and ran outside, and wow, the little man peed instantly. Hi-fives were shared and some festive praises of “Good Boy!” were happily announced.

He sleeps a lot, and today, he made his way into his crate on his own and laid down. I wanted to shake his paw and thank him, but just let him curl up and crash out.

He gives me the “one eye treatment” all the time. I’ll look down to see if he’s doing okay, and he’ll open one eye just to let me know he’s ready to jump up to play or kick some butt. Or, sniff some butt.

This whole thing, as cool as it is, has got me to thinking real hard about the commitment little Gary will command, and deserve. I have to be honest and tell all of you that I have a serious set of “cold feet.” Not that I’ll hop a bus for Vegas or anything, but just fear that this might not be the right time for this kind of change in my little life.

We’re gonna give it a little time, to feel it all out, see how he takes to the place, and to me.

Oh yeah, today is 05-05-05, all day. How about that shit? Just like the numbers.

Give it some time….go to Petsmart and sign up for a class - sign up NOW! You’ll learn how to interact better with him. They’ll teach you how to reprimand him, walk on a leash, sit, stay, etc…. It was well woth the 100 bucks!

Good luck….remember, give him time to break you in!

Ahnee…the potty training manual and the “puppy head start” books are in the mail tomorrow morning. I got both from Pet Smart and you’ll see how wonderfully they work…..just look at Mia. The Puppy Head Start book is from the class at PetSmart. TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is prove everyone WRONG…like I did - everyone said I couldn’t do it - and I proved each one wrong! It feels great!

Be consistent with the little guy. Every day will get easier and easier. It was about 5 months before I got to sleep through the night..so, consider yourself lucky!

You pansy Draplin. You should be shot. What the fuck did you think that dogs take care of themselves? Ever think to ask a actual dog owner, “Hey are you glad you have that car destroying, yapping, shitting, sleeping side kick with you? Would you do it again?” Dogs are 10 + year commitment. As a famous killer once said, if you can’t commit, you must a quit or something like that. Oh, one more thing, you don’t go BUYING a dog anyway. You rescue one from the pound dude. Because the pound is full of free unwanted dogs from people that went out and acted like a chick and emotionally just bought a dog that then realized that they couldn’t keep a commitment to. So…what shelter are you going to drop Gary off at?
