I read Fear and Loathing when I was in the 7th grade,(1987?). It changed my life. I subsequently read everything the Dr. published. Hunter was my Hemingway. Fuck Nixon. Fuck Reagan. Fuck the Po-lice. Long live the freak-party, woody-creek, the NFL, Edward Abbey, Ken Kesey, and ether-soaked washcloths on the floorboards. “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.” I can not imagine what he was writing about todays state of affairs.
